A 40-year-old deaf teacher who was arrested for molesting a 6-month-old baby to the extent of ripping out the child's intestine was granted bail even after he admitted to have committed the crime.
The teacher identified as Shaaibu Yakubu Abdullahi was arrested by the boys of NSCDC.
It waa revealed by the NSCDC commandant that the deaf teacher allegedly colluded with his 10-year-old student's, who carried the baby to him from her neighbour’s house and then he committed the act, and also stating that Abdullahi who denied the allegation, was identified by the 10-year-old student in a group picture of staffs and students taken in the school.
It was stated that the non-governmental organization, National Council of Women Society (NCWS), were the ones who reported the situation to the police, and also that the case has been reported to the state’s Ministry of Justice for prosecution.
The 6-month-old baby has however been taken to the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital for treatment.
